2009 CLARA CONTEST


The 2009 CLARA Contest, will be held over two days:

Tuesday March 10th and Saturday March 14th 2009

The response to last year’s two-day format demands that we continue to hold the contest on two different days, Tuesday and Saturday.  Get ready for 2009!

This year we have added a computer contacts certificate using either Echolink or CQ100.
  
Time: from 17:00 Zulu to 17:00 Zulu the following day for each day.
Remember: Daylight savings time begins on March 8th 2009.

            2:30 pm                      Newfoundland
            2:00 pm                      Atlantic Daylight Time   NB, NS, PEI
            1:00 pm                      Eastern Daylight Time   ON QC
            12:00 pm                    Central Daylight Time   MB
            11:00 am                     Central Standard Time   SK
            11:00 am                     Mountain Daylight Time   AB BC
            10:00 am                     Pacific Daylight Time     BC
 
RULES
1.         Log only 24 hours during the two days.  Your log must show                       time on and off the air.
2.         Suggested Frequencies:
            a) CW  14.033, 21. 033, 7.033, 3.688
            b) Phone  28.300, 21.255, 14.120, 14.285, 7.033-7.200,                                   3.750, 3.900
            Work CLARA and YL stations once per band/mode.
3.         Cross mode contacts count as phone for both stations.
4.         Categories:  Single operator only for logged scores.  However,                     have those family members beside you for family points!  (No                       time limits per contact).
5.         Exchange: 
            Signal Report, Date, Time, Mode, Name, Call Sign,                             QTH (location) and note QSO points
6.         QSO points are:
            CLARA YL Member                       5 points
            CLARA family Member                   2 points
            Non Member YL                            3 points
            OM                                              1 point
            Add up score.
7.         Multipliers   Multiplier are VE/VA provinces/territories with                           anyone, OM or YL, and DXCC entries  (only if QSO is with                           YL).  (possibility of 13 Canadian multipliers plus  your DX                             multipliers)
8.         Total Score is QSO points (times) x total number of multipliers.
9.         Note Low Power OR High Power.  Low power is 200 watts or less!

Rules: Computer Contacts
:
Echolink or CQ100 (try frequency 14.120) CQ100, like Echolink, is only obtained with proof of license.   (
www.qsonet.com for three months free trial).   Only operations that require proof of amateur radio status accepted.

1.         Log only YL contacts and only one contact per YL on the                             computer.   Add up score!
